Our mission is passionately committed to alleviating the economic burden to families whose loved one is currently in active treatment for breast cancer. Our goal is to help others achieve and maintain NED through the pillars of wellness which are nutrition, education and detachment from stress (NED). Our HOPE is to support you on this journey. The Toni Turchi Foundation; a 501(c)(3) organization, whose mission is passionately committed to alleviating the economic burden to families whose loved one is currently in active treatment for breast cancer. Our efforts aim to spread awareness and promote strategies to prevent a diagnose and/or recurrence of cancer through lifestyle modifications of health and wellness; ultimately, resulting in NED (No Evidence of Disease).
Our Foundation Goals:
As stated in our mission statement, the Toni Turchi Foundation’s goal is to help alleviate the stress caused by battling the disease of Breast Cancer with the following Pillars of Wellness:
- Provide a Safe Environment by helping with Mortgage payments and Utilities
- Provide Childcare Funding
- Provide Assistance with medication costs not covered by insurance
- Provide counseling funding support
- Provide Nutrition and Exercise Education
I have become passionate about advocacy work and try my best to live a healthy lifestyle.
Judy Fitzgerald is living with NED (No Evidence of Disease) and blogs about her experiences with breast cancer. She writes a variety of posts, from insights, tips, and inspirational stories to detailed strategies for healthy living, stress reduction and medical advancements.
Studies found that although many younger women are surviving breast cancer, they have substantial medical expenses not covered by insurance and suffer great economic challenges.
Our mission is to provide assistance to women who have fallen into severe financial distress following a diagnosis of breast cancer!
Increased financial burden as a result of breast cancer care costs is the strongest independent predictor of poor quality of life among cancer survivors.
Older women report that the high cost of medication often results in the need to cut pills in half or skip doses. Financial challenges of treatment can often result in bankruptcy.
A concern of African American Women is access to equal care. Many perceived that their treatment would have been different and better if they had had adequate insurance or more financial support.
Psychosocial costs refer to the loss of quality of life due to anxiety, depression, cancer burden, marital discord, negative changes in social and family relationships, and uncertainty over the future.
MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Help us inspire hope for No Evidence of Disease (NED) by providing assistance to women who have fallen into severe financial distress following a diagnosis of breast cancer, so they can focus their attention on wellness and achieving a better outcome and improved quality of life.
